The efficient and normal operation of a cone crusher is based on the principle of correct feeding. Both the feeding method and the layout of the feeding equipment will affect the operation of the cone crusher. For example, feeding biased towards one side of the feed inlet is an incorrect feeding method. When using an incorrect feeding method, it will cause a decrease in productivity, excessively large particle size of defective products, excessive displacement of the adjusting ring, and excessive pressure on the bearings, etc.
In addition, if the feed inlet is adjusted too large and too much material is fed, the cone crusher will work overloaded, which not only affects the production efficiency of the cone crusher but may also fail to meet the user's production requirements; if the feed inlet of the equipment is adjusted too small, it is easy to cause blockages and material jams, the cone crusher is prone to failures, and the service life of the equipment will be shortened. Therefore, during the operation of the cone crusher, how to feed correctly is the first step for efficient production of the equipment.
The precautions for feeding the cone crusher are as follows:
(1) The feeding speed must be well controlled during the feeding process.
(2) A buffer silo with a certain capacity should be set before the secondary crushing cone, preferably a combination of an underground silo with a large bearing capacity and a high-level silo with a certain capacity, to ensure the stability of the equipment's feeding.
(3) For the situation where a high-level silo is installed, but the actual production capacity of the system is less than the designed capacity and the processing capacity of the equipment cannot be adjusted, it is recommended to design a high-low level indicator.
(4) When installing the cone crusher and its components, the foundation drawing and the spatial dimensions of the crusher should be carefully checked, and a thorough plan for the installation of the feeding equipment should be made in advance to facilitate the disassembly of the equipment's feeding device during the maintenance of the crusher.
(5) Before feeding, a filter screen can be installed in front of the cone crusher to screen the materials, which is convenient for screening out the fine materials and sticky materials mixed in the materials to be crushed. This can effectively alleviate the blockage of the discharge port, thereby reducing the movement of the adjusting ring, avoiding overloading of the cone crusher, and reducing the production efficiency of the equipment.
(6) During the feeding process, attention should be paid to whether there are abnormally crushable materials in the materials. A metal detector can be installed to timely detect metal objects and other impurities entering the crushing cavity, which may cause the support sleeve to jump, frequent iron passing or overloading, shaft breakage accidents, or serious damage to internal components of the equipment, and even forced shutdown of the equipment, thereby improving production stability.
(7) The shutdown sequence must be correct. The ore feeder must be stopped first, and after the ore that has entered the crushing cavity is crushed and discharged, the cone crusher can be stopped.
(8) If the cone crusher suddenly stops during use, all materials in the crusher must be cleaned up before restarting.
(9) During the production of the cone crusher, the pressure of the locking system and the working condition of the hydraulic station should be checked frequently to ensure that daily inspections are carried out in a timely manner and problems are handled promptly when found.
