As an important industrial crushing equipment, cone crushers are widely used. How to use them efficiently has become a hot topic of concern for manufacturers and users. In fact, apart from equipment operation and the properties of the materials themselves, the feeding of cone crushers also affects their working efficiency.
Due to the different mineral properties of various materials and the varying production requirements of users, the models and cavity types of cone crushers selected are also different. As the first stage of material crushing, if the feeding method is reasonable and the throughput of the feeder matches that of the cone crusher to achieve material balance, it can not only ensure high-yield and continuous production but also effectively improve the user's production income.
Correct feeding should generally follow the following principles:
1, The ore fed in must not be higher than the level of the concave.
2, During feeding, the segregation between fine and coarse materials should be kept to a minimum, and there should not be too many fine particles, which can reduce friction.
3, The size of the fed ore should be compatible with the width of the feed inlet of the cone crusher. The maximum width should be able to pass freely through the feed inlet to a depth equivalent to 1-2 diameters of the ore block in the crushing cavity; otherwise, it may cause the machine to get stuck.
4, Effective control should be exercised over the properties of the materials. The feed should not be too wet or sticky, and the moisture content should not exceed 15% to avoid blocking the feed inlet and causing the machine to get pasted.
5, It is strictly forbidden to fill the cavity during feeding, as this will not only prevent the machine from crushing but also lead to failures of the cone crusher, such as bearing damage and machine vibration.
6, Cone crushers usually require dense feeding. Under this feeding method, the productivity is high, and the product particle size is fine and uniform.
7, The materials entering the machine should meet the technical requirements of the machine, and the particle size should not exceed the specified range. Generally, the size of materials processed by a cone crusher should be ≤ 85% of the size of the machine's feed inlet; otherwise, it will reduce the machine's output and damage some parts of the machine.
8, To prevent the crusher from being overloaded and uneven wear of the liner, the fed materials should be placed in the middle of the distribution plate and evenly dispersed in the effective crushing area of the cone crusher's crushing cavity after passing through the distribution plate. It is strictly forbidden to directly load the ore into the crushing cavity, causing a large amount of materials to accumulate on the rotor crushing disc of the crushing cone.
9, Attention should be paid to controlling the feeding speed during feeding. Although materials falling from a high distance can almost all pass through, they may fall directly into the bottom of the crushing cavity without being crushed, which will cause abnormal jumping of the adjusting ring and serious damage to the contact surface between the main frame and the adjusting ring. Therefore, the feeding speed should be controlled, and if necessary, trapezoidal blanking, dead-angle multi-material or similar deceleration devices can be used.
